Grand Theft Auto 4 - PS3 Downloadable Content Confirmed

As we all know, the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto 4 will be getting exclusive downloadable content sometime after the game's release. As of now though, nothing has been announced for the PS3. Well an article in the latest version of PlayStation World Magazine states that the PS3 will indeed be getting downloadable content. This information comes straight from GTA 4's senior developer, Jeronimo Barrera. No details were given, unfortunately, but that alone is still good news.

Everything after that is purely speculation. The article talks about two possible scenarios, one being that Microsoft only paid for timed exclusivity and the PS3 will eventually be getting the same thing. The other, more realistic scenario, is that the downloadable content will be in the form of PlayStation Home unlockables. Considering that almost every game from here out will have some sort of Home-integration (most being game-themed wallpapers, furniture, etc.), that does make a lot of sense.

Ps3 is way way more superior than the 360, old 360's have 16-30% chance of failing, and even the new ones still have 7-15% chance of failing, PS3 and wii only have 2-5 % chance of failing, and Blu-ray beat down HD and PS3 has remote play, and online is free for PS3 and PSP. Microsoft didn't even come out with a portable system, the 360 elite is a waste of money, all your paying extra is for the HDMI, colour and hard drive space. PS3 WAY OWNS I GOT BOTH!!you can't forget the amazing games on the ps3. for example, there are LittleBigPlanet, Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (has a sequal coming out fall 2009), MLB 09: the show, and last but not least, WarHawk. Also, Bungie, the creators of Halo, said that they might release Marathon, a game that take place 250 years after Halo, for the ps3. that means, you could either have the two games listed in the above entry, or the amazing games listed in my entry. Also can't forget the games from this years E3 like God of war 3, and Gran Turismo 5. For the PS3 haters/ Xbox 360 fanboys, give a reason before trash talking PS3, PS3 OWNS!

Hell no....If ur talking about games they all look the same (except that the exclusives that ps3 has r better bc blu-ray CDs have like 10 more Gbs than HD-DVD and that makes alot of difference)should play Killzone and c what im talking about...If ur talking about the whole system, if u pay a lil more for a ps3 u wont have to pay in the future to play online..the controller comes with a charger so that u dont have to go buy batteries all the time..ohh and ps3 have a Wi-fi built in so u dont need to have it plugged to the modem......So actually no...SHIT box 360 is much much much much worse. no its not xbox 360 sucks the only reason people buy it, is because they think that sice its microsoft its good until they realize that its not worth their money and that they should of gotten a ps3 because it is the better console

i had 4 die on me. So many 360's had the problem that there was even a diagnosis for this epidemic. I believe it was called shitty balls 360 red ring of death!

every time i put a disc in my 360s i would hold my breath until the lights went green and all was well. unfortunately i almost passed out every time.

eventually i figured it was bad news if i was spending so much time in an ebgames i was beginning to know the names of the staff, so i paid a little extra for a ps3 instead. as soon as i turned on the ps3 i knew i was no longer a little boy. i was now a man.

xbox 360's are for little boys who want a plastic piece of crap that shits itself whenever its asked to do more than hold a door open.

Dude right on...PS3 is so much better than 360. The graphics alone sold me on it...and why would you spend money on a 360 when they did have that big problem with the red ring of death...that sucked i had 5 360s before the ps3 came out as soon as it did i bought 1 and threw my 360 in the trash.

dude that is so true my 360 first broke due to some overheating bull so i thought to leave the brick in the y'know cause im cheap and still overheats so i put the whole thing there worked but fell now the disk drive now i need a whole new xbox its like they got thier design from ps2 disk-drives suck!!! ps3 doesnt its structure is relatively perfect i love 360 content but its design sucks balls!!!!!

All you guys are idiots, moaning about what console is better..I own both formats and find they both have thier good points & bad points...I see neither console as being better..only different degrees of frustration, ie DLC for one & not for another athough you purchased the game for both consoles for near the same price, why should one have more content available than the other? I'm sorry but this is the most rediculous coment in the world! the above statement is merely a comment on if or when the ps3 will be recieving the same content as the 360 and not a reflection on which one is better or worse. For you to think this is a debate must mean you, yourself are wasting your time debating, if not the argument as to which one is better, then the argument that there shouldn't be an argument. I agree with the guy above. We're simply all being gents and debating over the functionalities of the Xbox 360 and the PS3. Sure we could all talk about something else but for now, it's gaming consoles. I personally have experienced both consoles and I must say, PS3 is far better.

Don't turn this into a PS3 vs Xbox 360 flame war. Microsoft paid Rockstar money to have exclusive downloadable content for their console. I don't think Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo should have to pay a software developer money just for extra content. The D/L content should be available for purchase to all who bought the game. I understand the need to have exclusive console games (like Halo, Zelda etc.) but this is stupid.

Microsoft is throwing so much money away - this is one of the reasons they are laying-off so many workers.

Right here is my view on the whole xbox 360 v ps3 battle or whatever you wanna call it. I own a Ps3 and I have played on an xbox 360 and I admit that maybe graphically the xbox 360 is slightly better but to be fair is so slight that no one really gives a sh*t. You only notice if you sit about a foot away from your 50 inch tv. So if you want a plastic thing that its only purpose in life is to play games and overheat and die in a flamey red ring way sitting under you TV then fine go ahead buy an xbox 360 i'm not stopping you. But if you want an all round multimedia device that's also a more than dam fine games console on the side, comes with everything you need for a full HD experience (*cough**cough* Blu-Ray)and that hasn't been made by a company who likes scamming people out of every penny they can then buy a ps3 (I mean what type of monsters in this day and age don't build wifi into a device like that and then charge people for the luxury. I mean come my friggin' mobile phone has wifi in it).

I have all of the consoles each have good and bad and i have 360 and ps3 gta4 so i dont care. you should all get jobs and buy all of them then you can be like me a "cool guy" but for no ill just be happy knowing that i am better than all of you xx
