Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 coming to the PS3

It looks as though the once Xbox 360 exclusive Ninja Gaiden 2 will indeed be heading to the PS3, under the name of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and will come complete with several upgrades.

Here are some of the translations from the original article:
- It will be an upgraded version of Ninja Gaiden 2 (not a direct port)
- Set to release in autumn 2009
- The magazine will be reporting new elements in coming issues
- Producer and director: Yosuke Hayashi (From Sigma)
- Development: Team Ninja

A few new features will include:
- New weapon - spiked hammer "Genma"
- New giant boss battles not in the 360 version
- New playable character - female ninja Ayane

I'm hoping the "upgrades" mean bug fixes and an improved camera rather than just graphical updates, because to be honest that's what killed the game for me. The story, dialogue, boss fights and performance were still pretty bad as well but with a usable camera and a dramatic decrease in the obnoxious bugs, the game will at least become more fun to play.

Who knows? We'll have to wait until more information has been announced before we know whether this game will truly worth picking up.
