PS3 News

Attention GameCollision Readers!

We've had a lot of fun over the past year and a half but lately Dillon and I have felt like we needed to do something a bit different. We've started a new site, which still focuses on video game reviews, however we're going to simplify the process a little and make everything a bit more personal. All reviews will now be in the form of video, which will allow us to focus on getting quality content up much more often. Our first review is up and we should have quite a bit more rolling in soon. We'll be putting up more reviews, podcasts and blogs whenever we can.

We'd like to thank everyone that has been with us since the beginning and we hope you'll become a part of the new site.

We could really use your help getting started, so be sure to spread the word. Also be sure to follow us on Twitter and add us on Facebook & MySpace.

Check out the new site at NyuKaze.com!  read more »

Max Payne 3 coming this winter

Max PayneIn one of the most exciting announcements in recent months, Rockstar Games via a press release, has officially announced that Max Payne 3 is in the works and will be hitting the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this winter. Let me first start by saying "YES!" and "about damn time!". Not much info about the game was revealed in the press release other than a few small plot elements:

"Since leaving the NYPD and New York itself behind, Max has drifted from bad to worse. Double-crossed and a long way from home, Max is now trapped in a city full of violence and bloodshed, using his weapons and instincts in a desperate search for the truth and a way out."

Sounds pretty much like the first two, however Sam Houser went on to say this:  read more »

Dead Rising 2 confirmed for Xbox 360, PC and PS3

Dead RisingSeveral days ago a rough viral trailer was released for Dead Rising 2 and today it's been confirmed as legit by Capcom. The game has also been confirmed to be coming out on the Xbox 360, PC and PS3.

A few details have also been released. Apparently the game will take place several years after the events of Dead Rising, in a place called Fortune City (complete with casinos, in case you couldn't guess). The game is being developed by Blue Castle, with Keiji Inafune as producer. More info will hopefully be coming soon.

Mass Effect 2 to be released on several platforms

Mass EffectEA CEO John Riccitiello has revealed some interesting news regarding the release of Mass Effect 2. Apparently it will be coming in Q4 (which I assume means Q4 of their fiscal year) and will be coming on "multiple platforms". Nothing specific was mentioned, but it sounds to me like Mass Effect 2 will indeed be hitting the PS3 as many have been speculating.

Killzone 2 goes gold (North America)

Killzone 2Some good news has come from SCEA associate producer Mike Graham. It looks like Killzone 2 will be making it's expected release date of February 27 after all, because the game has officially gone gold.

Be sure to check this game out when it hits shelves as it's looking to be quite promising. Early magazine reviews have been nothing but positive, so let's hope it turns out to be as good as we're all hoping. You'll be able to see our full review shortly after release, so check back.

I Am Alive coming by the end of March

I Am AliveSome interesting and rather surprising news has come from Ubisoft today. Apparently the game I Am Alive, which was announced not too long ago will actually be coming much sooner than most had anticipated. After recent reports stating that the game would be hitting store shelves in Q1 of 2009, Ubisoft clarified that it will actually be coming during Calender Q1, which means it should be available by the end of March.

So far, we've seen very little of the game outside of the initial teaser trailer so hopefully more information, including some videos and screenshots, will be coming soon. This is definitely one that I'll be checking out.

Aliens: Colonial Marines coming Q1 2009

Aliens: Colonial MarinesNot too long ago rumors began circulating that the highly anticipated 'Aliens: Colonial Marines' has been put on hold indefinitely (canceled...), and Gearbox President, Randy Pitchford, quickly spoke up against such rumors. Well, in case you needed any further assurance, the game has now been given an official release date of Q1 2009. Nothing more specific than that, unfortunately, but that alone is great news.

Xbox 360 owners can expect it to go up tomorrow, January 8, whereas PS3 owners will be able to try it out next week on the 15th.
