Ratings Guide

Each game is played and then thoroughly broken down into different categories, which are all given different scores. We then factor each category in and give the game a final score out of 10. It is important to note that the overall score is not an average of the category scores. The categories are:

Visuals:
This includes graphics, art style, textures, animations and framerate. We also take into account how technically impressive the visuals are.

Audio:
The audio consists of music, sound effects, voice acting and dialogue.

Story:
How interesting/original the story is and how well it pulls you into the game and ties everything together.

Gameplay:
Basically, how well the game plays and how much fun we had playing it. This is by far the most important category and makes up the largest part of the overall score.

Entertainment Value:
How much entertainment you'll get out of the game. Includes the length of the game itself, as well as extras and online play. Here we'll tell you how long you can expect to play this (while having fun) and whether the game is really worth a purchase.

Scores-

10: Masterpiece
Ok, so there's no such thing as perfection, but this is as close as you're ever going to get. Only a small handful of games are this good, and if you are a gamer you've played them all before.

9.5 - 9.9: Amazing
Only a few special titles belong in this category. These are the games that are so great that they're almost an essential for every serious gamer.

9.0 - 9.4: Excellent
Everything about these games is great. These are the ones that are worth every penny.

8.5 - 8.9: Outstanding
Games that stand out from the rest. Besides being fun, many parts of the game go above what most would consider 'good'.

8.0 - 8.4: Exceptional
Almost everything about these games is very good and there is a lot of fun to be had. May unfortunately be lacking in a few areas.

7.0 - 7.9: Good
Games that are fun, but may be a little shallow. Might have technical downsides or something else missing that keeps it from being a really great game.

6.0 - 6.9: Decent
These are the games where there may be a bit of fun to be had. Nothing stands out though and parts of the game are likely less enjoyable than others.

5.0 - 5.9: Mediocre
Games labled 'mediocre' are just that. They're boring and everything is just kind of there. You'll most likely struggle to get through it.

4.0 - 4.9: Poor
These games aren't terrible, but believe me, they're not good.

3.0 - 3.9: Bad
This is the category where most of the shovelware is placed. The game might work for the most part, but believe me you won't get much enjoyment from it.

2.0 - 2.9: Terrible
Plain and simple, a very bad game which is most likely flawed in more ways than one.

1.0 - 1.9: Awful
These games may be playable, but no one in their right mind would actually want to play them.

0.1 - 0.9: WTF?
These are games that don't even deserve to be called games. To get a score like this a game needs to be really messed up, even beyond the point of unplayability.
