Wii News

Attention GameCollision Readers!

We've had a lot of fun over the past year and a half but lately Dillon and I have felt like we needed to do something a bit different. We've started a new site, which still focuses on video game reviews, however we're going to simplify the process a little and make everything a bit more personal. All reviews will now be in the form of video, which will allow us to focus on getting quality content up much more often. Our first review is up and we should have quite a bit more rolling in soon. We'll be putting up more reviews, podcasts and blogs whenever we can.

We'd like to thank everyone that has been with us since the beginning and we hope you'll become a part of the new site.

We could really use your help getting started, so be sure to spread the word. Also be sure to follow us on Twitter and add us on Facebook & MySpace.

Check out the new site at NyuKaze.com!  read more »

Mass Effect 2 to be released on several platforms

Mass EffectEA CEO John Riccitiello has revealed some interesting news regarding the release of Mass Effect 2. Apparently it will be coming in Q4 (which I assume means Q4 of their fiscal year) and will be coming on "multiple platforms". Nothing specific was mentioned, but it sounds to me like Mass Effect 2 will indeed be hitting the PS3 as many have been speculating.

Infinity Ward confirmed for Call of Duty 6

Infinity WardHeads up Call of Duty fans, Infinity Ward has officially signed on to develop the sixth installment in the franchise, set to release in 2009. After the major success of Call of Duty 4, it was a bit strange that Activision decided to return to Treyarch to develop the next installment, especially after Call of Duty 3's lukewarm reception. Well, no matter how Call of Duty: World at War turns out, Call of Duty 6 is definitely in good hands. No further news on where and when the game will be set, but expect more to be revealed after the release of Call of Duty: World at War later this year.

Rock Band 2 - instruments revealed + confirmed tracks

Rock Band 2The latest issue of GameInformer has revealed quite a bit of information about the upcoming Rock Band 2. The article features not only the specs and information about the new instruments coming bundled with the game, but also quite a few of the tracks that will come on the disc.

The guitar, which still has the same Stratocaster style, now comes with a sunburst finish on the body and a faux-maple wood neck. The strummer has been altered to feel less "squishy" and the fret buttons now make less noise. As for the new drums, the pads are now softer which will cut down the noise and the kick pedal is now metal-reinforced to withstand "over-enthusiastic stomping". It will also feature expansion slots for future cymbal add-ons.  read more »

Tomonobu Itagaki leaves Team Ninja and sues Tecmo

Tomonobu ItagakiOn the eve of Ninja Gaiden II's release, some sudden and unexpected news has been delivered concerning the game's creator, Tomonobu Itagaki. He sent out a letter earlier today announcing that he has officially split from Team Ninja and has sued Tecmo for damages. Apparently he was owed some money from Tecmo after the completion of Dead or Alive 4 and was not paid. He has also stated that the president of Tecmo, Yoshimi Yasuda, has made "unreasonable and disingenuous" statements towards him. Unfortunately for the fans, this means that there will be no more 'Ninja Gaiden' or 'Dead or Alive' games from Itagaki in the future. He supposedly already has plans for his next game which will feature all the violence of Ninja Gaiden. No specific details on what he'll be doing next though.  read more »
