Overview:
In the fourth installment of the Grand Theft Auto series, players take control of Nikolai "Niko" Bellic, an Eastern European man who has come to Liberty City, to pursue his own version of the "American Dream". He soon meets up with his cousin Roman who is already living in Liberty City and is greeted with a surprise. Roman has lied to Niko about his situation, claiming he is incredibley wealthy, when in reality he is struggling to get by with only a small taxi business. He had planned for Niko to work for him, but Niko has other plans. He is determined to become rich, and doesn't let anything stand in his way.

Grand Theft Auto IV features all new revamped visuals and gamplay. Load screens have been cut, graphics have been greatly improved and the physics have been re-done. Rockstar has put a focus on improving gameplay by adding details and making for a more realistic experience.
  • Cars now need to be hot-wired.
  • Vehicles have GPS systems.
  • Police vehicles have fully working computer systems with searchable criminal databases.
  • AI has also been highly improved; both pedestrians, characters and police officers act more like real people.
  • The gunfight system has been completely reworked and now features a working cover system.

Another major change is the addition of an online multiplayer mode. Not much is known about it, but it has been stated that it is not an MMO, but will possibly feature open-ended gameplay and exploring as well as classic deathmatch style games and team deathmatch games called 'Cops 'n' robbers'.

GTA 4

A great game, hunted by unintuitive controls. Looks like the developers of this game where able to implement everything they wanted, which can't be said about most games. Usually what happens, developers become over ambitious and end up putting a third of the content they originally planned. That doesn't seem like the case for GTA 4, which is flooded with insane amounts of content and features.

The problem with this game is that the controls seem to be a bit off. Something about them isn't fluid enough. Another thing would be that the story doesn't have a proper build up. At one moment you have this epic thing happening, but the mission isn't more than a chase mission. Then out of no where, things become intense, then drop back to being casual. It's all over the place.
