Call of DutyTreyarch has released the official name for the upcoming Call of Duty 5, along with the first details about the game. The game will be called 'Call of Duty: World at War' and the game will be set in the Pacific theater of World War II. It was also confirmed that the game will include a co-op mode for the campaign portion of the game, making it the first game in the series to do so. The game will be coming out on PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii. The Wii version will have a different team behind it. The game has also been re-confirmed to be running on the Call of Duty 4 engine.

007: Quantum of Solace - First Details

Quantum of SolaceNot much has been revealed about the upcoming 007 game other than the fact that it will be called Quantum of Solace and will indeed be based on the next movie. Today new details have emerged about the game.

The game will be a first person shooter, but will utilize a cover system much like the one used in Rainbow Six Vegas. By that I mean when you get into cover, the perspective will change to third person. It will also do this when Bond climbs ladders or walks along narrow ledges. Developers went with this mechanic because it supposedly makes the player feel like they are Bond. I guess being able to see a full shot of Bond outside of cutscenes will add perspective to his character.  read more »

Tomonobu Itagaki leaves Team Ninja and sues Tecmo

Tomonobu ItagakiOn the eve of Ninja Gaiden II's release, some sudden and unexpected news has been delivered concerning the game's creator, Tomonobu Itagaki. He sent out a letter earlier today announcing that he has officially split from Team Ninja and has sued Tecmo for damages. Apparently he was owed some money from Tecmo after the completion of Dead or Alive 4 and was not paid. He has also stated that the president of Tecmo, Yoshimi Yasuda, has made "unreasonable and disingenuous" statements towards him. Unfortunately for the fans, this means that there will be no more 'Ninja Gaiden' or 'Dead or Alive' games from Itagaki in the future. He supposedly already has plans for his next game which will feature all the violence of Ninja Gaiden. No specific details on what he'll be doing next though.  read more »

Strange Resident Evil video appears on official website

Resident Evil 5If you check out the official Resident Evil website, you'll catch a glimpse of a strange video that has recently been posted on the front page. It's taken by a video camera that has been left (or dropped) on the ground that is focusing on an abandoned bus in the middle of a desert town (which appears to be the same one from all the RE5 trailers). After some time you'll see a boy walking around in a strange manner who approaches the bus and then walks away. Very weird, and very creepy... What's also interesting to note is that there are two counters at the top of the video, both of which change times sporadically and appear to be counting up. Hm. Anyway, you can check out the new Resident Evil 5 trailer on May 30.  read more »
